Objectives

Setting professional standards is one of the Institute's strategies in achieving its mission which is to create and add value to every HR professionals, the entire profession, organisations and educational institutes.​

  • Helps the profession to play a significant role in driving the success of organisations and community at large

Organisations

  • Gains employers’ confidence in the standards that add value to the business

  • Addresses the gaps between the capability of HR practitioners and the expectation from business leaders / employers

Educational Institutes

  • Provides a framework and assistance to tertiary educational institutes for the development of appropriate curriculums to cope with the ever-changing demand in HR management

To ensure content of HR programmes offered by higher education institutions with the defined HR Body of Knowledge, Programme Endorsement is launched by HKIHRM. For details about programme endorsement, please click here

Educational Institutes

Governance

To support the development of professional standards, different working groups with seasoned HR practitioners have been formed.

  • Professional Standards Committee: monitoring the development and quality of the standards which is reflective of the HR profession

  • Programme Endorsement Sub-Committee: endorsing or re-endorsing HR programmes submitted by tertiary education institutes according to the criteria and reviewing the criteria if necessary
