Fellow Member F.I.H.R.M.(HK)
To become a Fellow Member F.I.H.R.M.(HK), one has to fulfill the following requirements:

Has been a Professional Member of HKIHRM for a continuous period of at least 5 years; AND
-
Has at least 15 years of HR work experience, having demonstrably worked at a strategic level during the 3 years immediately preceding the date of the application. A panel meeting is required for relevant assessment; AND
-
Has been endorsed by one Fellow Member of HKIHRM; AND
-
Has been contributed# to HKIHRM or the HR profession
#Contribution: e.g. mentoring, teaching, providing advice or etc
Professional Member M.I.H.R.M.(HK)
To become a Professional Member M.I.H.R.M.(HK), the applicant shall:

Has held a university degree (any discipline); AND
-
Has been endorsed by one Fellow or Professional Member of HKIHRM; AND
-
Has been involved* or contributed# to HKIHRM or the HR profession; AND
Route A:
-
Has at least 8 years of HR work experience, including having demonstrably worked at a professional/managerial level during the 3 years immediately preceding the date of the application.
OR
Route B:
-
Has completed trainings organised by HKIHRM (including at least one Certificate course or two Executive Certificate courses); AND
-
Has at least 5 years of HR work experience, including having demonstrably worked at a professional/managerial level during the 3 years immediately preceding the date of the application.
Associate Member
Student Member
To become a Student Member, one has to fulfil the following requirements:
▪ Studying a full time HKIHRM recognised course / an HR programme fully endorsed by HKIHRM
Full time students from other HR programmes may also apply for the membership but will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Corporate Member
Organisations that would like to gain instant access to HR resources, including receiving the latest information and up-to-date market data, and be able to enjoy member rates when delegating colleagues to participate in HKIHRM activities.
Affiliate Member

At least 15 years of HR work experience and having worked in a strategic role during the 3 years immediately preceding the date of the application;

An evaluation mechanism approved is required for relevant assessment;

Endorsement by one Fellow Member of HKIHRM; and
-
With contributions to:
(i) the applicant's own organisation with significant HR impact; and
(ii) HR Community; and
(iii) the community at large as an HR professional.
Professional Member M.I.H.R.M.(HK)
Requirements:

Holding a degree (in any discipline);
-
Endorsement by a Fellow or Professional Member of HKIHRM;
-
With involvement or contributions* to HKIHRM or the HR profession; and
-
An evaluation mechanism is required for assessment.
Route A:

At least 8 years of HR work experience and holding a professional or managerial position during the 3 years immediately preceding the date of the application.
OR
Route B:

Having completed relevant training programmes organised by HKIHRM (including at least 30 hours or above Certificate course or Executive Certificate courses); and
-
At least 5 years of HR work experience and holding a professional or managerial position during the 3 years immediately preceding the date of the application.

Associate Member
Requirements:
Route A:

Having completed an HR degree or above fully endorsed by HKIHRM; or

Having completed an HR qualification partially endorsed by HKIHRM and passed an Associate Membership Assessment [More about Associate Membership Assessment];

Having completed a Non-HR degree or above; and
-
Having at least 1 year of HR work experience* verified by the applicant’s employer;
OR
Route C:

Having completed a Non-HR sub-degree; and
-
Having at least 2 years of HR work experience* verified by the applicant’s employer

Student Member
Requirements:
Route A:

A full-time student studying HR and related disciplines (e.g. BBA, Management, Psychology) which includes HR curriculum*
*HR curriculum including but not limited to Reward Management, Employee Engagement, Employment Law, Sourcing & Staffing, Learning & Development, Business Knowledge for HR;
OR
Route B (Affiliate Student Member):

A full-time student studying non-HR disciplines; and

Service-based Membership
Corporate Member
Corporate membership is open to organisations wishing to gain instant access to HR resources including the latest information about the profession and market news. Staff of corporate members attending HKIHRM activities will be entitled to member rates. (Exclusive Benefits for Corporate Members)
Affiliate Member
There is no specific qualification or work experience requirement for this membership category, but it can lead you to a promising career in the HR profession.

Remarks:

Membership fee is charged for members joining between 1 April and 31 March for one year or two years subscription.

Entrance and annual subscription fees are subject to review by the Institute without prior notice.

For membership renewal, the membership fee must settle by March on the renewal year (and subject to meeting mandatory CPD requirement for Professional-route-based Membership).

Those aged 60 or above AND on permanent retirement may apply for entering their names into the Retirement Register to enjoy a steep discount on the membership fee.

Members can apply for membership reinstatement after their membership has been suspended since the introduction of new membership scheme on 1 April 2010 by:
- paying a reinstatement fee (all the outstanding annual membership fee since his / her suspension); and
- providing CPD records for the year(s) showing you have met the CPD requirement since you have ceased to be a member (if applicable)
6. HKIHRM shall has absolute discretion in respect of each application to decide conclusively whether he / she has fulfilled the
conditions applicable to his / her case or not. The decision of the HKIHRM is final and shall not be subject to any appeal.
Membership fee is non-cancellable and non-refundable.
